Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
FretTrainer EZ is published by Don't Fret About It AI. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at dontfretaboutitai@gmail.com.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
FretTrainer EZ is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Location data (GPS or IP-based)
- Microphone recordings or audio data
- Your practice history, scores, or progress
- Any financial or payment information
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Cookies or cross-site tracking data
3. Data Stored on Your Device
FretTrainer EZ stores your preferences (such as selected fretboard theme and last-used mode) locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data never leaves your device and is permanently removed when you delete the app. You can reset preferences at any time from within the app settings.
4. Microphone Access
The chromatic tuner feature requests access to your device's microphone solely to detect pitch in real time. No audio is ever recorded, transmitted, or stored anywhere. Microphone data is processed entirely on-device and discarded immediately after each reading. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
5. Apple App Store & Platform Services
FretTrainer EZ is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may independently collect certain usage, crash, and diagnostic information as described in the Apple Privacy Policy. This data is governed by Apple, not by Don't Fret About It AI.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting SDKs, or tracking libraries. The app makes no network requests of its own.
6. Crash Reports & Diagnostics
If you have opted in to share diagnostics with Apple (via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymized crash logs with us through App Store Connect. These logs contain device model, iOS version, and stack traces only — no personal information. We use this data solely to fix bugs.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
FretTrainer EZ does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, the app is suitable for users of all ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at dontfretaboutitai@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Because FretTrainer EZ collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. All data (app preferences) lives solely on your device and is under your full control.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
- EEA / UK (GDPR): Right to access, rectification, erasure, portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA / CPRA): Right to know, right to delete, right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data), and right to non-discrimination.
- All users: You may delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app.
To exercise any rights or submit a data request, email us at dontfretaboutitai@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Data Security
Since we do not collect or transmit personal data, there are no servers or databases that could be breached. All app data remains encrypted at rest on your device using iOS's built-in data protection. We do not operate any backend infrastructure that holds user information.
10. International Users
Don't Fret About It AI is based in the United States. Because we collect no personal data, no international data transfers occur. Your data stays on your device, in your country.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the App Store release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
